Adoption Application

PLEASE NOTE: We do not adopt out to anyone under 18 years of age. If you are under 18 years old and wish to adopt from Chelle's Critter Haven, please have your parent or legal guardian fill out the application form.

We urge everyone applying for rats, regardless of experience level, to check out our Rat Care Guide. It covers many topics, and was written and put together by Chelle and various volunteers for CCH.

Adoption Fees:
  • $25/pair of unaltered rats
  • $35/trio of unaltered rats
  • altered rats will have a slightly higher adoption fee
  • other animals as shown in their description

PLEASE NOTE:

  • If applying for multiple animals of the same species, only one application need be filled out. If applying for multiple animals of varying species, an application must be filled out for each species.
  • If at any time you are unable or unwilling to provide proper care for the adopted animal, you MUST contact and return the animal to Chelle’s Critter Haven.
  • Chelle’s Critter Haven reserves the right to contact you through telephone or email, at any decent hour of the day, to inquire about the animal(s) wellbeing.
  • If you’re applying for a rat, we will only adopt out in pairs, unless there is currently a rat in the home which will be introduced to the new rat.
  • We do conduct home visits at the time of dropping off the animal. We are not interested in how many piles of clothes are on the floor, or how many dishes are in the sink, we only care about where the animal(s) will be housed.
