Do you deliver?
Yes, we do! We deliver to the majority of Southern Ontario - but you'd be surprised how far we will go to get rats to their forever homes. We done some long treks in the past, so please don't let distance deter you from adopting from us.

Do you have a transport fee?
We have no set transport fee, and you're not obligated to give us money for transport. However, we do ask that you keep in mind the time and gas money spent on delivery is graciously donated by our volunteers and CCH itself, so if you wish to make an extra donation it would be very much appreciated.

Do you have a contract?
For all animals, we require you sign an adoption agreement on the date they are transferred to you. If you would like a copy of the agreement to read through ahead of time, please let us know. As well, all adoptions require a home visit. This can be done at the time the animals are delivered to you.

Do you do a home check?
Yes, we do a home check at the time we drop off your rats to you. We don't care how many dishes are in the sink or how many piles of laundry on the floor, we only want to check out the rats' home! If we have any concerns at that point, we will discuss them with you at the time of delivery.

Can I come see the rats before I adopt them?
Unfortunately, because we operate as a closed rescue, you usually cannot come "pick out" rats you want. This is mainly due to the fact that the majority of our rats are in foster homes, and our fosters don't like having a parade of strangers come through (understandably!). We do pride ourselves on finding the perfect rats for you through email and (if you'd like) phone conversations - and if the rats aren't the right fit we will always take them back.
